The pressure-type sprayer-also known as a spray drying tower or fountain-style spray dryer-is a piece of gas-liquid co-current drying equipment. It achieves rapid drying by atomizing liquid materials through a high-pressure nozzle and bringing them into contact with a co-current flow of hot air; it is widely used in industries such as food processing and chemical manufacturing. The system comprises an air intake filtration unit, an air heating system, a spray granulation tower, and a dust recovery unit. The granulation tower features a polished body with a height-to-diameter ratio of 4:1 and is equipped with flow-straightening devices to ensure linear airflow; additionally, it incorporates an expansion section and an internal cyclone separator to enhance particle recovery rates.

 

The atomization process relies on a high-pressure pump to drive the liquid, causing it to form an annular liquid film that subsequently breaks apart. The resulting product typically consists of hollow, spherical particles with excellent flowability, making the equipment suitable for materials such as catalysts, dairy products, and traditional Chinese medicines. However, the system does have limitations, including the tendency for nozzles to clog and the requirement for high-pressure pumps.
